John Meredith - Principal / Producer / Director

John is a film industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the Australian and international film and television industries. His career roles include Film Commissioner and LA Representative for Ausfilm (peak marketing body for the Australian film industry), Executive Liaison at Fox Studios Australia, Executive Producer and Head of Production at GMD/FILM.

During his time with Fox Studios Australia John played a key role in the establishment and operation of The Matrix production and while working with design, animation and VFX house GMD/FILM he worked with a team of producers and digital artists to create high-end design and VFX for major Australian and international productions, including Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings.

In 2014 John made a commitment to his long-held interest in documentary filmmaking and established Full Moon Hot Sun. While developing his own projects, he has also created short factual films, event-based films, profiles and other content for corporate clients including Citibank, Samsung, Hurley, Ivy League Records, Mushroom and Universal Music Group.

In 2016 his short documentary film Into the Maelstrom was invited to screen at the Sydney Tropfest film festival as one of sixteen finalist films.

John is also Co-Founder and Chairman at Brookvale Arts District (BAD) and since 2020 has been a driving force behind the vision and strategies positioning BAD to become a global leader as an integrated arts, industry and entertainment precinct.

Douglas Clark - Partner / Economic Development & Place Strategies

Douglas has over thirty-five years of experience as an economic development consultant including his work across investment attraction, place marketing and the creative industries as well as technology businesses and ecosystems. Starting his economic development career at Roger Tym & Partners, the first UK consultancy to combine planning with economics for property and place development, positioned him at the forefront of urban and regional policy, providing a broad experience in all aspects of placemaking.

As a specialist in the development of investment attraction strategies, Douglas has played a critical role in helping locations tell their most impactful stories. He has presented at international conferences on place marketing and investment attraction trends and was the European columnist at the Financial Times Foreign Direct Investment fDi magazine as well as an occasional writer for PropertyEU magazine.

During the late 1990s Douglas was involved in highlighting the importance of the creative industries as a source of economic and place development and has undertaken various strategy development initiatives relating to creative industries, including music, film, television and gaming. In addition to the economic development of places, Douglas is also passionate about new technologies, and has been active in London’s Tech City, including his role as co-founder of the smart city tech start-up Better Cities.

Since his move to Australia in 2017 Douglas has been engaged in economic development activities, including his work on a Concierge Service for NSW Inward Investment and the creation of a Marketing Strategy and Action Plan for the Macquarie Park Partnership. At the 2018 Australian Regional Development Conference he delivered a presentation on How We Can Ignite Growth and Prosperity in Australia’s Dying Town Centres.  

Douglas has been working on the Brookvale Arts District project since 2023 supporting the delivery of hyper-local economic development through community collaboration driven by effective strategies, communications and activations.

Nathan Tchier - Partner / Projects & Partnerships

Nathan is a Project Management and Operations Executive with over 20 years of experience, primarily in the finance, wealth and banking sectors, who has successfully coordinated the strategies and implementation of some of Australia’s largest projects within the financial services industry. He has also founded, launched and operated businesses within creative industries including music, fashion and hospitality. Since 2009 his key career roles in finance include Regulatory Response Manager at the Royal Commission for Westpac BT, Senior Operations Manager at ANZ Superannuation and the Principal Executive responsible for Regulatory Affairs and Relationships at AMP.

During his time at AMP he oversaw successful regulatory approvals for the sale of AMP Life to its current UK owners, and his work for Westpac BT during the Royal Commission was acknowledged for having saved company staff positions, throughout all levels of its workforce, as well as creating an effective pathway for Westpac BT to take responsibility for the Commission findings and the bank's subsequent changes to more customer centric practices.

In 1999 Nathan founded Kittysmak Productions and as CEO he managed and promoted a significant roster of Australian and International music artists. He also co-founded the Firetruck clothing brand and was responsible for its design, marketing and distribution across Australia. From 2004 to 2006 he was engaged as a Promotions and Marketing Consultant for Justin Hemmes & Sydney Merivale.

During the early 2000s Nathan was also the frontman of Sydney rock band SecondBest, completing six national tours, some as support act for the likes of Pennywise, Millencolin, and The Ataris. From 2001 to 2004 the band performed at various festivals across Australia and topped local music charts.

In 2022 Nathan made the decision to focus on his true passion and purpose and has been working to implement and support strategies for creative industries. Utilising his experience and skillset across the finance and wealth management sectors, music and other creative industries, as well as the policy and regulatory environment, he is currently working with individuals and organisations across music, film, theatre, performance and fine arts to facilitate and develop community-up collaborative projects based in well-being, vibrancy and sustainable growth.
